一、题目看错
有的时候，同学们会把题目看错，导致做错题。
比如，我们知道填空题经常会限制字数，做这种题的时候答案的字数必须服从于题目要求中答案的字数限制，至于是否需要达到字数的上限需要根据原文内容来决定，切不可盲目“凑字”，否则极易导致答案超字或答案词性发生变化，进而错题、失分。
举个简单的例子来说明：
《剑桥雅思考试全真试题集5》Test 4 Passage 3里的句子填空题
题目要求Complete the sentences.
Choose NO MORE THAN THREE WORDS from the passage for each answer.
38. Desert annuals respond to as a signal for reproduction.
第38题：答案对应的原文文字如下：“For example, desert annuals germinate, flower and seed whenever suitable rainfall occurs, regardless of the day length.”其中desert annuals对应题干中的desert annuals，“germinate, flower and seed”对应题干中的reproduction，而regardless of与题干中的respond to的意思相反，因此其后的day length不是本题的答案，此时答案只能来自于whenever suitable rainfall occurs，再结合答案应为名词或动名词这一点，考生可以判断出题目的答案是suitable rainfall，而不是suitable rainfall occurs。
二、题目看不懂
题目看错，认真一点还是可以做到的，那么还有一种情况就是题目看不懂，这个时候该怎么办呢?
我们想一下题目看不懂，主要可能是因为有的单词不认识理解不了意思，那我们是不是就不能做题了?非也，举个例子：
例如：
原文：Frogs are losing the ecological battle for survival, and biologists are at a loss to explain their demise.
题干：Biologists are unable to explain why frogs are dying.
对于这道题，可能有的同学一看就傻眼，因为原文中ecological, at a loss, demise都是生词。但是，题是可以这样做的：
首先洞悉本题的考点词为unable to explain，属于典型的是非判断考点词，对应原文的考点是at a loss to explain。loss是负向词，而unable也是负向词，原文与题干在考点上方向相同。那么本题就应该是TRUE。单词不认识，照样做对题。
三、选项看错
还有一种情况，在选择题中常见，有些选项很有迷惑性，乍一看，是对的，就选择了，没往下继续看。但是仔细分析，就会发现自己掉进陷阱了。比如说
原文： “there is no bullying at this school” has been a common refrain, almost certainly untrue. Fortunately, more schools are now saying: “there is not much bullying here, but when it occurs we have a clear policy for dealing with it.”
题目：the writer thinks that the declaration “There is no bullying at this school”
A: is no longer true in many schools
B: was not in fact made by many school
C: reflected the school‘s lack of concern
D: reflected a lack of knowledge and resources
很多同学一看这个题目就直接选了A，选A 选的心甘情愿，义无反顾。因为certainly untrue 和no longer true 还能有问题吗?大家想再仔细想一下就明白no longer 意思为不再，深层含义就是从前是真的，现在不再真了，这显然和untrue这种从头到尾都不真实的结论不符。
