Describe events in the past
An “interesting speech” is a type of “event”. Choose a speech that you have heard (remember, it doesn‘t matter if what the speech is - just that you saw it) and follow the Formula 24 answer order:
Stage 1: What it was. When it happened.
Stage 2: Why it happened.Where it happened. Who was there.
Stage 3: What happened
Stage 4: Why the event was special. How you feel about it.
Here is an example 举例:
Stage 1: (What it was. When it happened):
An interesting speech I saw was Barack Obama’s victory speech. He gave this speech on the night of the 2008 Presidential Election when it was clear that he would be the winner.
Stage 2: (Why it happened. Where it happened. Who was there):
The speech was held in a park in Chicago. I, of course, watched it on TV.In attendance at the speech were thousands and thousands of people from all different backgrounds.
Stage 3: (What happened):
While I don‘t remember the speech exactly, what I remember most that happened was the outpouring of the excitement and joy from many members of the audience.I particularly remember a group of people who had worked with Dr. Martin Luther King so many years before and were now sitting in the front of the speech crying non-stop
Stage 4: Why the event was special. How you felt about it.
Clearly, this speech and Obama’s victory was a historical moment for the United States. I felt very proud and joyful for having support Obama‘s presidency long before most people knew who he was.
