谦逊、讲礼貌是中国人的美德。不过，你知道如何能正确的用英语提出礼貌请求吗？在中国经济高速发展的今天，人们使用英语的频率越来越高。不论是在国内遇到外国友人，还是出国在外生存必需，我们常常会遇到需要向别人提出请求或要求的情况。但有时候因为不同的语言习惯和文化背景，我们在提出自己的请求时会稍显突兀。
下面就让我们通过两个对话来学习一下如何正确、礼貌地用英语提出请求。
例子1：
出国旅行，下飞机后，通常要做的第一件事就是给家人报一声平安。假设我们需要买一个可以在当地使用的电话卡，应该怎么说呢？
Shop worker: Can I help you
我能帮您吗？
Customer:I’d like to buy a SIM card to call China.
我想买张能打中国的电话卡。
Shop worker:Sure, we have two types of SIM cards. Would you like a pay-as-you-go SIM card or a pay-monthly SIM card

在英语里,你、我、他、你们、我们、他们都可以和 would like 这个句型连用，意思是礼貌地表示你想要某样东西或做什么事情。Would like在和名词连用时，可以使用缩写，比如he/she’d like… 他/她想要; we’d like… 我们想要; they’d like… 他们想要。
注意避免使用 “I want… 我要…”这个句型。因为这个说法很不礼貌，你绝对不会听到英国人这么说。

在向别人提问时，我们可以使用 can you tell me… 和 can you help me… 来征求对方的意见。更加礼貌的说法可以将 can 换成 could. 如果不知道对方的名字，也可以在句末加上 sir 先生或 madam 女士来表示对对方的尊敬。
